Cybersecurity Innovation in Georgia

Due to the growing focus on information technology and significant public and private investments in recent years, Georgia is a leading center for network and cybersecurity. The cybersecurity industry cluster in Georgia generates nearly $5 billion in annual revenue and features more than 115 companies, including major players such as:

In 2018, Georgia invested $106 million to create the Georgia Cyber Center. Located in Augusta, GA, the Georgia Cyber Center cultivates an ecosystem where government, academia, and private industry collaborate and create innovative solutions to complex cybersecurity challenges. Additionally, the Center offers education, training, research, and practical application.

Georgia is one of only a handful of locations in the US with cybersecurity assets in Academia, Industry, and State and Federal Government. Georgia has strong cybersecurity academic resources that are continuing to grow each year. As of 2021, Georgia is home to twelve NSA National Centers of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity (three of which are focused on research) which is more than double as many Centers established in the state by 2016.

Georgia is also home to the National Security Agency/Central Security Service, which operates the Georgia Cryptologic Center and the Cyber School of Excellence at Fort Gordon. In 2020, the United States Army Cyber Command (ARCYBER) Headquarters relocated to Fort Gordon, GA resulting in a $1.4 billion economic impact and creating close to 4,000 jobs in the Augusta region.

The Center of Innovation helps businesses in these two primary areas:
  • We are the go-to resource for information on issues and trends that support the state's growing cybersecurity industry.
  • We serve as the connection point between business, government, and academia in order to increase industry innovation.

Being a partner to so many areas of the industry, there are multiple ways for the Center of Innovation to be your go-to as you grow your business.
