Creation of Renewable Energy Sources in Georgia

Alternative sources of energy are becoming more important in a world where energy resources are high in demand and in some cases getting tapped out. As Georgia businesses continue to seek alternative solutions to energy generation, the Center of Innovation’s role is to establish and aid in building an energy ecosystem that supports those solutions. The energy model is based on generating energy from sources such as crude oil, coal, and natural gas, resources not present in our State.  The new energy model that Georgia is building, with the Center’s assistance, leverages the State’s existing resources, none other than the Sun, Biomass, Research Universities, Private Industry, Philanthropy, and State Government.

The Center also works with companies that are identifying and implementing technologies in the field. With the Center, energy industry, and academia working in tandem, Georgia has become one of the leading states in biomass production and solar energy generation.

Another promising renewable energy source comes from waste-to-energy conversion. This developing technology will be providing Georgia communities with exciting opportunities to convert organic and inorganic matter, that would otherwise go into landfills into products that can power citizens’ lives.

We assist businesses focused on renewable energy in two primary ways.
  • We link companies with Georgia’s universities and cutting-edge energy research partnerships.
  • We connect organizations to solutions for virtually every business need, from strategic locations to raw materials for energy conversion.
