ATLANTA – March 27, 2019 – The Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) today announced that Geveko Markings, a world leader in materials for road and pavement markings and horizontal decoration applications, will create 75 jobs in Gainesville.

“We are excited to welcome Geveko Markings to Hall County,” said GDEcD Commissioner Pat Wilson. “Georgia is a magnet for international companies who are seeking to expand in North America. I am confident that Geveko will find all the resources they need to be successful here including a readily available and skilled workforce.”

Geveko Markings, founded in Sweden in 1924, has grown its North American market presence significantly leading the company to expand its manufacturing, distribution and supporting functions to a new, larger facility and headquarters.

“We are fully committed to serve and expand our presence and activities in North America,” said Group CEO of Geveko Markings Ulrik Haagen-Olsen. “The new facility will allow us to cater better to the market and, in addition, support our objective of delivering superior customer experience and becoming the preferred supplier of high-quality road and pavement marking materials. We selected Gainesville due to its proximity to Atlanta, accessibility to skilled workers, and because operations can be easily scaled from the location.”

Geveko Markings will construct a new 80,000 square foot manufacturing center and headquarters on a 20-acre site in the Gainesville Business Park. The company has selected Carroll Daniel Construction as its design-build construction firm for the project. Geveko Markings has already started the project, and the new facility is expected to be complete in the third quarter of 2019.

Laura Clark, President of Geveko Markings’ Northern American division, stated, “From a business growth standpoint, the new facility in Hall County provides an opportunity to build a state-of-the art North American headquarters that will provide our rapidly expanding customer and partner base with innovative, quality products that are delivered efficiently throughout North America.”

Expressing gratitude towards everyone involved with the project, Clark continues, “It has been a pleasure to work with all the people in Gainesville-Hall County. From the planning department staff to the elected officials, the State of Georgia and the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce, everyone has worked hard toward a solution that maximizes the best interests of the community and Geveko Markings.”

“Geveko Markings will be a great addition to the Gainesville-Hall County Business Community,” said Mayor Danny Dunagan. “The company’s new 20-acre site in Gainesville Business Park was part of a development partnership between the City of Gainesville, Hall County and the Gainesville and Hall County Development Authority. This new announcement is a reminder that by working together, we can achieve great things in economic development and for the community,” said Dunagan.

“Geveko Markings is already making an economic impact in the community by choosing local civil and design-build construction services for their new facility,” said Vice President of the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce Tim Evans. “Geveko will get the best service and price for their project, but more than that, they’ve made a firm statement that they want to be a stakeholder in the business community.”

GDEcD’s Director of International Investment Nico Wijnberg worked in partnership with the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce.

Geveko Markings is a leader in its manufacturing processes in Europe with ISO 9001 and 14001 Certifications. The company has a strong global footprint with operations in more than 75 countries.
