As the State of Georgia celebrates a record-setting year for trade in 2019, the International Trade Division of the Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) announces a new effort to give Georgia businesses an advantage for the future. The new Export Georgia, USA Directory is now up and running to provide Georgia businesses with the global connections they need to reach new markets and diversify their international customer base.

The free of cost Export Georgia, USA Directory is an international marketing tool, which provides an online platform for Georgia companies interested in promoting their products or services globally to international buyers. It can be found at: www.georgia.org/export

The new resource allows international buyers to search for Georgia suppliers of products and services, and helps GDEcD’s International Trade division better facilitate international business matchmaking opportunities for Georgia manufacturers and service providers. The division is actively recruiting Georgia exporters to be showcased in the new directory.

The department’s new online platform for trade comes on the heels of the biggest year in Georgia trade history. A new record was set in 2019, with a 2.87% increase in total trade and 1.5% increase in exports over the previous record set in 2018. The State of Georgia tallied $41.2 billion in exports and $143.3 billion in overall international trade in 2019.

Georgia’s total trade value has nearly doubled in the past 10 years, making the state the epicenter of global trade in the Southeast.

In any given year, the International Trade Division works with more than 2,000 companies across the state to make their business a global business by ensuring their products reach the right markets for success. The majority of companies the Trade Division works with each day are small businesses, and the new directory and the division’s services are geared to assist them in entering new international markets.

GDEcD International Trade GLOBE Award winner, Delta Sigma Company of Kennesaw, Georgia, an advanced auto manufacturer, also recently earned the 2019 Export Achievement Award from U.S. Commercial Service for exporting to 15 countries.

The International Trade Division works to bolster Georgia’s exports and includes International Representatives located in 12 strategic global markets. It assists Georgia companies to expand their sales worldwide.
