Costas Simoglou is the director of the Center of Innovation for Energy Technology, where his mission is to help Georgia's companies accelerate the development of new products, ideas and business models in the Energy ecosystem and maintain the State's leadership position in the fields of energy generation, transmission, distribution, storage and consumption.

Costas joined the Georgia Department of Economic Development in 1993. Tasked with developing a state wide export promotions program for the technology industry, he assisted more than 300 Georgia based technology companies expand internationally. In 2000 he was assigned the task of recruiting technology companies to Georgia, resulting in more than $500M in direct and indirect investment. In 2004 he began developing and implementing the Centers of Innovation program based around Georgia's strategic industries of Logistics, Aerospace, Information Technology, Agribusiness, Manufacturing and Energy Technology. The Centers of Innovation are the catalysts for collaboration among business, government, entrepreneurs and academia.

Costas has over twenty five years of sales and marketing experience in the technology industry. He entered the software industry in 1987 as an international sales manager for ZSoft Corporation.

Costas has been an active member of the technology community in Georgia.  He served on the boards of, AeA (formerly known as the American Electronics Association) and the Southeastern Software Association.
