Professional Broadcast Camera Operator (Contract)

Professional Broadcast Camera Operator (Contract)
Ebenezer Baptist Church – Atlanta, GA
Sunday Mornings | 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
The PTZ and Remote/Floor Camera Operators at Ebenezer Baptist Church play a vital role in producing high quality live worship service broadcasts every Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Our production philosophy centers on two core commitments: honoring the in person worship experience and ensuring that online viewers feel immersed in the service rather than simply watching a recording of it. Candidates must be currently working professionally in television, live broadcast, or film production. Operators must demonstrate advanced technical mastery and compositional judgment suitable for nationally streamed, multi-camera live broadcasts, with a minimum of 3-5 years of professional, hands on experience in fast paced, live television production environments.

Primary Responsibilities
• Operate PTZ and/or ENG style cameras during worship services, in a multi-camera live environment, maintaining precise framing, exposure, and compositional integrity under real-time direction, ensuring smooth, accurate, and visually compelling coverage that supports and communicates the worship experience to the remote participant/viewer - while being respectful of the in room worshipper experience; avoiding distractions while still capturing meaningful, engaging visuals for the broadcast audience/remote congregation.
• Respond quickly to real time direction from the Director or Technical Director, adapting to spontaneous changes with professionalism and situational awareness.
• Contribute to a broadcast style that helps online viewers feel present in the sanctuary, emphasizing natural, authentic, and worship centered imagery.
• Prepare, position, and test camera equipment prior to each service, ensuring all gear is fully operational and properly configured.
• Anticipate speaker movement and spontaneous liturgical elements.
• Troubleshoot minor camera or transmission issues when needed.

Required Professional Experience
• Active employment or professional freelance work in television, live broadcast, streaming, or film production.
• Strong understanding of broadcast camera operation, including exposure, focus, white balance, and lens control.
• Experience working in multi camera environments with intercom communication and real time direction.
• Familiarity with production gear such as PTZ controllers, tripods, camera transmitters, tally systems, and studio camera rigs.
• Experience working on productions with strict timing windows.

Extras Castings

When productions need extras, they usually turn to casting agencies that specialize in finding background talent. These agencies do not charge applicants a fee for their service nor do they generally offer photography packages. Most use social media extensively to announce casting calls (so follow them), and they generally ask applicants to submit a headshot, a full-body photograph, clothing and shoe sizes, and body measurements. Casting calls are usually announced with short notice so be sure you have availability during the advertised period.
