Georgia Made®
As Georgians, we’re proud of who we are, the work we do, and the products we make.
What does it mean to be Georgia Made®?
Georgia Made® celebrates the manufacturers across our state whose products are used in our daily lives and across the globe. To be Georgia Made® certified, at least 50% of the final product must be assembled and produced in Georgia – conveying a point of pride, whether the final product is put to use in the state or carried via Georgia’s robust logistics network anywhere else in the world.
Eligibility for Georgia Made® certification
A product is eligible for a Georgia Made® certification if at least 50% of the final product is assembled or produced in Georgia, as defined below. This program excludes food and agricultural products, as well as other products eligible for designation under the Georgia Grown program.
Manufacturing refers to a wide range of human activities used to create tangible or intangible goods, including product design, proprietary code, and engineering. It is most commonly applied to industrial production, in which raw materials such as wood, metal, minerals, recycled paper, plastic, and glass, are adapted, modified, or reshaped into finished goods for use or sale. Finished goods may also be component parts incorporated into or assembled into other products or goods. Georgia Made® also refers to Georgia’s wide range of non-industrial products not necessarily produced in industrial or commercial facilities, but that otherwise meet the above definition.
