What does “Manufactured” Mean?

In order to become certified “Georgia Made,” your product must meet certain criteria. The term “manufactured” refers to a wide range of human activity used to create tangible or intangible goods, including product design, proprietary code, and engineering. It’s most commonly applied to industrial production, in which raw materials are transformed into finished goods for use or sale. Finished goods may also be component parts which may be incorporated into other products or goods. However, in order for a product to be eligible for certification, at least 50% of the final product must be manufactured in Georgia. This program excludes food and agricultural products, or other products eligible for designation under the Georgia Grown program.
