Earlier this month, Governor Brian P. Kemp joined the Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) in honoring 36 Georgia companies for their outstanding export achievements. GDEcD’s annual GLOBE Awards began in 2014 to acknowledge companies that contribute to economic growth in Georgia through international trade.

The 2019 GLOBE Awards recognized 36 Georgia businesses from 16 counties across the state. This year’s winners reflect Georgia’s industrial diversity with companies representing a wide variety of sectors. A majority of this year’s cohort were small businesses with 72% employing fewer than 100 employees. These companies demonstrate a strong commitment to international growth and their success speaks to the positive impact exporting has across the state in growing businesses and strengthening Georgia’s economy.

This year, two new categories of distinction were added to Georgia’s GLOBE Awards to acknowledge companies for their special achievements. Three companies were named Georgia Exporters of the Year to recognize their commitment to international growth over time and compelling export success stories.

2019 Georgia Exporters of the Year

Pain Care Labs – Small Business
The Seydel Companies – Mid-Size Business
Crider Foods – Large Business

In addition to Exporters of the Year, three companies received a New to Export award distinction for exporting for the first time in 2018. Achieving a first-time success in international markets is frequently a challenging task. The GLOBE Awards’ New to Export distinction recognizes the significant commitment of time and resources demonstrated by these companies to achieve their first international sales.
