Great Georgia Jobs Television Series, Premiered Sept. 11

ATLANTA, September 14, 2017 —The Georgia Department of Economic Development's Workforce division announced today the premiere of Great Georgia Jobs, a four-episode television series, putting a spotlight on Georgians who took advantage of the state's workforce resources and training programs that ultimately contributed to career success.

'Many times workforce is the leading determining factor in attracting new business and supporting the expansions of our existing industry in Georgia,' said Pat Wilson, Commissioner, Georgia Department of Economic Development. 'This partnership will help further tell the story of our great resources and training tools that help strengthen Georgia's workforce system.'

Through a partnership with Trust Dale TV, Great Georgia Jobs is a workforce-focused television series that features training programs, employment resources and information from partners including the Technical College System of Georgia, Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency and Georgia Department of Labor.

The episodes tell stories of a diverse group of Georgians, from very different backgrounds, who overcome barriers to employment by taking advantage of the statewide resources and training tools available to Georgia job seekers. Topics discussed range from on-the-job training and work-based learning to up-skilling, entrepreneurship and technical assistance.

'Georgia offers diverse workforce training and employment programs for job seekers throughout the state,' said Ben Hames, Workforce Deputy Commissioner, Georgia Department of Economic Development. 'Great Georgia Jobs allows us to share stories of individuals who have taken advantage of these resources, and have been successful in changing their career paths or learning new skills.'

Great Georgia Jobs premiered on September 11 and will air in every media market across the state. Hosted by Consumer Investigator Dale Cardwell, the series highlights training programs that have been implemented in key regions across the state.
