Georgia Announces New Trade Rep in Mexico

ATLANTA (November 9, 2010)— The Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) recently announced Fernando Hanhausen as Georgia's new representative at the state's international office in Mexico. Mr. Hanhausen will seek trade opportunities between Georgia and Mexico for Georgia companies, and will help promote the state as a desirable destination for tourism and foreign direct investment.

Mr. Hanhausen is managing partner of Hanhausen and Domenech Consultores (HDC), a consulting firm that specializes in market research and business development. With more than 20 years of experience in consulting, Mr. Hanhausen specializes in economic and financial analysis of project opportunities and strategic marketing consulting. He has experience advising international organizations and companies on Mexican economic and business trends to develop effective market penetration.

In addition, Mr. Hanhausen has served as a board member for various corporations and has been a Professor of Economics at the Business School of the Anahuac University. He has overseen hundreds of market research studies, advised international organizations/companies on business trends and economic developments in Mexico (for effective market penetration), and has also authored numerous articles about U.S. business in Mexico for export promotion publications.

A native of Mexico, Mr. Hanhausen holds a degree in economics from the School of Economics at Anahuac University in Mexico City. He is a recognized expert on U.S.-Mexico trade issues, and has been a featured speaker at conferences in Mexico and abroad. His work has led to the establishment of many joint ventures between Mexican and foreign businesses as well as a long list of distribution agreements and specific project awards for his clients.
