Bioscience Company Breaks Ground

This video provides a first-hand account of the many reasons Baxter International chose Georgia to locate its new plasma production plant.
According to a recent study by Area Development, one of the most beneficial factors is the state's top-ranked workforce development program, Quick Start. Quick Start is a free program that builds customized training regimens to prepare each company's workforce with the skillset specifically needed to succeed in its industry.

On Baxter's new campus, the program will operate a biotech training center to provide a workforce pipeline for the company. The center will also benefit other players in Georgia's bioscience industry, which hosts over 200 companies, supports of 105,000 jobs and creates a $23 billion annual impact.

The strategic location of this world-class facility takes advantage of Georgia's large logistics ecosystem. Its proximity to the fastest growing port in the nation, the busiest airport in the world and the most extensive railway system in the region will permit more efficient transportation both nationally and internationally.
