Upcoming Fox Television Series to Film in Lt. Governor Casey Cagle’s Office

ATLANTA, September 16, 2009 – A new television series, Past Life, which will premiere on FOX in 2010, will be shooting scenes in Lt. Governor Casey Cagle's office today and tomorrow.  Past Life is a new drama series about an unlikely pair of detectives who investigate the world of the unexplained. The show will also shoot in hallways and on the exterior steps of the state capitol.
'It has always been a priority of mine to support tax credits that bring increased growth to an industry and more jobs to Georgians.  When we worked for the passage of H.B. 1100 in the Senate, I didn't expect to see the fruition of our efforts first-hand with a film crew working out of my office.  Georgia has and will continue to attract the film industry because we have put ourselves at a competitive advantage among other states and offer the right incentives.

'At the end of the day, what we have done is working.  Georgia offers prime locations for a growing and appealing industry, and with it comes new, well-paying jobs for our citizens.
'Unfortunately, my acting skills were not quite up to par, so you will not see any evidence of me in the season premier,' said Lt. Governor Casey Cagle.

The Past Life project will mean a significant investment in the city of Atlanta and in other areas of the state, and will provide many jobs for Georgians during the filming process.
The Georgia General Assembly passed H.B. 1100 in 2008, which provides tax credits for qualified production companies and their affiliates.  It applies the 20 percent credit to all Georgia counties and an additional 10 percent credit if films or TV projects place a Georgia logo in the film or TV credits.

Beyond Past Life, sixty feature films, indie features, television series, television movies, TV pilots and TV specials have been produced in or have committed to Georgia in the last 16 months.  Some of the feature films and television series that have been produced in Georgia, or are currently in preproduction or production in Georgia include: Dean Zanuck Productions' Get Low, starring Robert DuVall, Sissy Spacek and Bill Murray; Disney/Touchstone's The Last Song featuring Miley Cyrus and filmed in Savannah; Lifetime Television's series Drop Dead Diva, filmed in Peachtree City; Liongates's Killers, featuring Ashton Kutcher and Katherine Heigl; Warner Brothers' Vampire Diaries; Sandra Bullock's The Blind Side; Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married Too?; Alcon Entertainment's The Lottery Ticket; and The Conspirator, slated for Savannah in October, directed by Robert Redford and starring Robin Wright Penn.   Over 45 Georgia communities and counties have served as locations for film and television productions in the last fiscal year, with investment in the state exceeding $500 million dollars.
