Skip Barber Racing School relocates offices

ATLANTA, May 9, 2011-The world's foremost school for racing instruction, the Skip Barber Racing School, is moving its offices to Braselton from Connecticut, Gov. Nathan Deal announced today. The office relocation joins the schools' existing base location that has operated at Road Atlanta since 2008.

'Skip Barber Racing School's decision to raise its profile in Georgia will help boost tourism in the state and draw other automotive companies associated with racing,' said Deal. 'The Racing School has been a great partner in helping us promote Georgia, and we appreciate its interest in growing along with the state.'

The administrative office move follows the relocation of the company's logistics, fabrication and maintenance operation to Road Atlanta, a move that was completed in November 2010. The office will include functions such as accounting, marketing, sales and information technology. The company's expansion into existing space will be completed by the end of the third quarter of 2011.

'The company's Road Atlanta facilities are centrally located for our operations and the logistical demands placed on our company. Hall County provides excellent proximity to major airports and provides access to skilled professionals for employment at our company. Skip Barber Racing School is excited to move its organization to Hall County,' stated Kevin Seidl, Chief Operating Officer, Skip Barber Racing School, LLC.

'Skip Barber Racing School at Road Atlanta has been a great corporate citizen, and I am really pleased the company has selected Hall County to be the new home of its head offices,' said Tom Oliver, chairman of the Hall County Commission. 'Skip Barber Racing School and Road Atlanta attract motoring enthusiasts from around the world to spend their time and money in this region.'

To celebrate its relocation, Skip Barber Racing School will host its second annual open house for the public at Road Atlanta on Thursday, May 12. Activities will include hot laps on the track in a Mazda MX-5 Cup Car, driving on the skid pad and autocross, and the opportunity to ride in an assortment of high-performance racing cars. The open house is free, but tickets are limited. Registrations for the morning or afternoon sessions are being accepted at http://www.skipbarber.com/openhouselanding.asp.

'Skip Barber Racing School at Road Atlanta is one of Georgia's crown jewels in adventure tourism. This move brings us closer to the resources and talent of the world's most renowned racing school. It's a boost to Hall County and Georgia to be the home of Skip Barber Racing School,' said Kit Dunlap, President & CEO of the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce.
