Ohio-Based ChemStation Expands to Marietta

GA_USA_vertical_smallATLANTA, March 3, 2010 —The Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) announced today that ChemStation, a Dayton, Ohio-based environmental products manufacturer, will expand operations to Marietta, Georgia in Cobb County.  This will mark the manufacturer's second facility in Georgia, joining the company's Columbus operation that opened in 1997.  With this expansion, ChemStation expects to create 9 new jobs, with the intent to create a total of 25 jobs by 2011.
'ChemStation represents a unique segment of the manufacturing industry in Georgia, and adds to an already diverse group of companies that successfully do business in the state,' said Ken Stewart, commissioner of the Georgia Department of Economic Development.  'We support ChemStation's efforts to promote environmentally conscious ways of doing business, and look forward to the company's continued growth in Georgia.'

The company's Marietta operation will be known as ChemStation of Atlanta, and will manufacture custom-formulated, environmentally friendly industrial cleaning and process chemicals delivered to refillable containers at each customer site.  Through the Cobb County facility, the company plans to build relationships with potential customers at poultry, egg, and food processing facilities as well as the vehicle, asphalt, and transportation industries.

'Our business thrives off of creating environmentally-friendly solutions for our partners, allowing them to find workable and landfill-conscious ways to do business,' said Joe Wilbanks, general manager of ChemStation of Atlanta.  'Through collaborating with the Georgia Department of Economic Development for our Marietta facility, our company gains greater coverage in Georgia, and an enhanced presence in the Southeast.'

In business since 1984, ChemStation's unique 'green' system of providing industrial cleaning and process chemicals allows its customers to use refillable containers that replace empty drums and totes that would typically be sent to landfills, which often are at capacity.  Through ChemStation of Atlanta, the company hopes to expand delivery of its environmentally conscious products to businesses throughout north central Georgia.

GDEcD statewide project manager Renée Rosenheck assisted the company with this expansion.
