NCR Opens Global Headquarters in Georgia

ATLANTA, April 13, 2010 – Governor Sonny Perdue, NCR Chairman & CEO Bill Nuti and a host of dignitaries celebrated the grand opening today of NCR's new corporate headquarters in Duluth, Georgia. NCR is a world leader in providing ATMs, retail self-checkout and other innovative assisted- and self-service solutions.
'I am thrilled that we in Georgia are celebrating NCR's investment in its future, as well as our state,' said Governor Perdue. 'We have carefully fostered the kind of global business environment and talented workforce that helps world-class companies find success, and I join with our partners in welcoming NCR and in committing to Georgia's continued competitiveness.'

'In a little under a year, NCR has undertaken a remarkable transition, fueled by an excellent public-private partnership with the state and various local entities,' added Nuti. 'Our new corporate headquarters, conceived and realized to promote innovation and collaboration, opening here in Georgia today, positions NCR for a very bright future. It will help us to secure and extend our competitive edge, drive growth and enhance the service we provide to our customers.'

The global technology company announced in June 2009 that it would relocate its headquarters from Ohio to Georgia. NCR is also benefiting from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, from which planes fly to 156 U.S. and more than 80 international destinations.

Within five years, NCR hopes to employ approximately 4,000 Georgians, which includes the creation or retention of approximately 3,000 jobs, drawing from a 4.8 million-member workforce and a population projected to grow at a rate of 40 percent over the next 15 years. NCR's retail line of business is already based in Duluth, and the company has opened both a global Center of Excellence in Peachtree City and a manufacturing facility in Columbus within the past 12 months. NCR was assisted with all three locations by the Georgia Department of Economic Development. Combined, NCR has leased or owns over one million square feet of office and industrial space in Georgia.

NCR's headquarters move builds on its already significant presence in the state. The company has had operations in Georgia for more than 30 years. The new, technology-focused campus will occupy three buildings in Duluth.

'The official opening of NCR's new global corporate headquarters strengthens the solid business foundation that NCR and Gwinnett County have shared for years,' said Charles Bannister, Chairman of the Gwinnett County Commission. 'Gwinnett looks forward to working with NCR on enhancing their corporate presence here in Georgia and we are glad to have them in our community.'

NCR is capitalizing on Georgia's innovation economy by leveraging the resources of the University of Georgia's Intellectual Capital Partnership Program (ICAPP) for advanced leadership training. The company is also working with the Georgia Research Alliance (GRA) and the Georgia Institute of Technology's College of Computing, Health Systems Institute, Industrial and Systems Engineering School and its College of Management to help it stay on the forefront of an extremely competitive industry.

In addition, Georgia Quick Start, the state's premier organization for delivering customized, strategic workforce solutions for companies, has been a key factor in helping NCR's Georgia facilities – each with a unique purpose and focus – function as a unified whole, with training and materials created to communicate the company's vast line of products and services, 125-year history of innovation, and unique corporate culture.

NCR joins 13 other Fortune 500 companies and 29 other Fortune 1,000 companies located in Georgia, including the corporate headquarters for AGCO, AFLAC, The Coca-Cola Company, Delta Air Lines, The Home Depot, Merial, Mueller Water Products, Newell-Rubbermaid, Porsche and UPS.
