Carolina Composites Relocates to Evans County

Georgia state logoATLANTA, March 30, 2007 – Carolina Composites, manufacturers of Pioneer Boats, has relocated its entire operation to Claxton, Georgia, investing $2 million and hiring 100 people over three years. The company will move into a 40,000-square-foot speculative building in the Evans County Industrial Park. Georgia's pro-business climate, geographic location and infrastructure make it an ideal fit for Carolina Composites,' said Ken Stewart, commissioner of the Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD). 'Georgia is a great partner for manufacturers and is pleased to help Carolina Composites achieve its goals.' Pioneer Boats is a family-owned and operated business that produces center console, fish and ski, and bay boats. Jane Schaller represented GDEcD as project manager. "We have found a good fit for our family business in this community. We're serious about making a good product and the community is serious about helping us achieve that goal. We're looking forward to starting operations here in Claxton as soon as we can,' said Roy McSwain, who co-owns Pioneer Boats with his brother, Mike Holmes.
