About the Georgia FMDE Office

The Georgia Film, Music & Digital Entertainment Office’s knowledgeable, hands-on staff is here to help you make your next entertainment project a reality in our state.

Since our office was formed in 1973, Georgia has been the location of choice for hundreds of film and television productions and one of the world’s largest and most renowned music scenes.

Georgia offers a state tax credit of up to 30% for qualified productions. This includes not only traditional projects such as feature films and television programs, but also innovative new industries such as video game development and animation.

No matter what shooting locations your script requires, Georgia can fit the bill. The largest state east of the Mississippi River, Georgia offers an astounding variety of landscapes to fit almost any production. Georgia’s crews are among the best and most experienced in the country, boasting more than 5,000 union and non-union professionals, along with more than 1000 production suppliers and support vendors.

It’s easy to get most anywhere within and outside of Georgia thanks to our vast and convenient transportation network. Along with our extensive rail and highway systems, Georgia is also home to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, the world’s busiest. Whether you need to travel the globe or fly non-stop to or from Los Angeles, New York City and every production center in between, Georgia can get you to your destination.

Frequently referred to as the “Music Capital of the South,” Georgia is home to one of the world’s largest networks of music artists, composers, producers, engineers and other professionals. Numerous GRAMMY® winners and nominees with Georgia ties have added to our world renowned music heritage.

The Georgia Gaming Assets Map highlights industry assets including Georgia’s gaming companies, colleges & universities and industry facts. The Gwinnett Commerce and several of the state’s regional partners worked with the Georgia Film, Music & Digital Entertainment Office to create this marketing collateral piece used to promote the digital entertainment industry around the world.
