International Travel 

The goal of the Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) sales team is to increase the number of visitors and increase our market share for nights spent in the state. According to the U.S. Department of Commerce, Georgia was ranked 13th nationally in 2007 in the number of international visitors.

The sales team works to build the Georgia tourism product with domestic-based international receptive operators, international wholesalers and operators, and web-based international tourism sales revenues and to raise awareness of Georgia with international consumers through international public relations programs.

Georgia's international sales, marketing, and public relations efforts remain concentrated on visitors from Canada, the United Kingdom (below), Germany (below) and China (below). The tourism division also works with GDecD's trade representatives in Mexico, Brazil , Japan and Israel to promote Georgia as a tourism destination.
