The Georgia Tourism Foundation is a public-private entity created for the express purpose of expanding the state’s tourism economic impact. It is a non-profit organization charged with the strategic planning and implementation for cooperative marketing, advertising, education/ entrepreneurship and innovation initiatives that will bring more visitors to the cities and counties of Georgia. Legislatively created and administratively attached to the Georgia Department of Economic Development, the Foundation works collaboratively with the Tourism Division to achieve its marketing goals.

The Foundation allows for the creation of new public-private partnerships to maximize and consolidate Georgia's tourism marketing efforts, attract more visitors and increase the industry's economic impact throughout the state. The Foundation fosters and creates a new tool to promote the state's outstanding array of tourist attractions for Georgia's tourism agencies and local communities.

The Georgia Tourism Foundation recognizes the vital role that travel and tourism industry plays in Georgia’s economic prosperity and the quality of life for all Georgians. Tourism annually generates approximately $28 billion in tourism expenditures, which supports 217,000 jobs and contributes $1.3 billion in state and local tax revenue.

Georgia offers a wealth of travel destinations within an easy drive from anywhere in the Southeast. The Georgia Tourism Foundation works to support and promote Georgia Tourism.
