Greg Torre is Deputy Commissioner of Marketing and Communications for the Georgia Department of Economic Development, the sales and marketing arm of the state of Georgia.
Mr. Torre’s previous roles at GDEcD included director of the Film, Music and Digital Entertainment division, director of the Business Communications team for GDEcD’s Global Commerce division and division director for the agency’s Small Business and Innovation team, with oversight of the Regional Small Business Project Manager Program, the Governor’s Entrepreneur and Small Business Office and the state’s Innovation and Technology Office.
Torre joined the agency in 1987 as a field representative with the Georgia Film, Video & Music office. He was named director of the office in 1998. Prior to joining the state he served in various freelance capacities in the film industry in the Southeast and New York. Torre holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of South Carolina.
Mr. Torre serves as a board member of the Georgia Economic Developers Association and is a member of several economic development associations including the Technology Association of Georgia.
