In his role as the leader of Marketing and Communications, he and his team manage the agency’s reputation and promote Georgia’s business, tourism, arts and entertainment assets throughout the state, U.S. and world. Through the creative integration of print, digital, social media, outdoor and broadcast channels, the division supports the department’s eight operating divisions. This includes new advertising campaigns, the creation of sales and marketing materials, digital advertising, all internal and external communications, media outreach, more than a dozen social media platforms across multiple divisions and the growth of the department’s nine targeted websites.
Mr. Torre’s previous roles at GDEcD included director of the Film, Music and Digital Entertainment division and division director for the agency’s Small Business and Innovation team, with oversight of the Regional Small Business Project Manager Program, the Governor’s Entrepreneur and Small Business Office and the state’s Innovation and Technology Office.
Mr. Torre has headed up the Marketing and Communications team since 2009. He joined the agency in 1987 as a field representative with the Georgia Film, Video & Music office. He was named director of the office in 1998. Prior to joining the state he served in various freelance capacities in the film industry in the Southeast and New York. Torre holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of South Carolina.
Mr. Torre served as a board member of the Georgia Economic Developers Association and is a member of several economic development associations.
