Georgia Education Core Curriculum - Workforce Education

Georgia is on the path to leading the nation in improving student achievement.

Georgia has always been a place where hopes and dreams come alive. With the Georgia Performance Standards, we’ll ensure that Georgians have access to a world-class curriculum that will drive both instruction and assessment for teachers and students.

The State Board of Education is dedicated to leading the nation in improving student achievement. These Georgia Performance Standards are the foundation we’re building on. The standards are the result of months of work by teacher teams, state and national experts, and consultants.

The performance standards delve much deeper than the content standards of the previous curriculum. The performance standard incorporates the content standard, which simply told the teacher what a student was expected to know (i.e., what concepts he or she is expected to master), and expands upon it by providing three additional items: suggested tasks, sample student work and teacher commentary on that work.

With the Georgia Performance Standards driving instruction across the state, we’re on our way to leading the nation in improving student achievement. To learn more about the Georgia Performance Standards, click here.
