Callaway Gardens
Located in Pine Mountain, Callaway Gardens is a 14,000-acre woodland and display garden, resort, and preserve that attracts close to 1 million guests annually from around the world.
Callaway Gardens offers you a beautiful man-made landscape in a unique natural setting. The gardens were created by Cason J. Callaway and his wife, Virginia Hand Callaway, to offer a place of peace and serenity for all. Enjoy the wholesome family environment of Callaway Gardens where visitors may find beauty, relaxation, inspiration and a better understanding of the living world. Callaway Gardens also invites you to experience their recreational facilities that include championship golf, tennis, a fitness center, swimming pools and more.
In 2000, Callaway Gardens opened a new scenic 2.5-mile drive and the Virginia Hand Callaway Discovery Center. This expansive facility offers you historical and geographical information about Callaway and its natural attractions. Enjoy the center’s orientation theatre, auditorium, exhibit hall, education wing and restaurant – all situated on the western edge of Mountain Creek Lake with a beautiful view of the Pine Mountain ridge.
In addition to its many educational and scenic attractions, Callaway Garden offers you luxurious accommodations for that needed getaway or company business trip. The newest addition to its resort is The Southern Pine™ Conference Center. Scheduled to be the first certified Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) conference center by the U.S. Green Building Council, this 54,000 sq. ft. facility is on the cutting edge with its environmentally-friendly construction.
The Preserve, historically known as the Lower Valley, is where you’ll find forested land punctuated with historic home sites, woodland roads, meadows, winding streams, stands of beautiful hardwood trees and regal longleaf pines. By protecting this area’s unique ecosystem, the Preserve is a model environmental education destination, offering a demonstration area for ecosystem restoration, sustainable forestry, watershed protection and wildlife habitat improvements.
From beauty to business and education to relaxation, Callaway Gardens is tranquil setting for your next getaway.
