Cloudland Canyon

Located on the western edge of Lookout Mountain in North Georgia is Cloudland Canyon. This attraction, chiseled by wind, water, ice and gravity, is one of the most scenic locations in the state. This hidden gem offers you the unique combination of rugged natural features and striking vistas. The canyon is part of a state park that straddles the deep gorge created by Sitton Gulch Creek and features elevations that range from 800 to 1,980 feet.

If you love the outdoors, you shouldn’t miss Cloudland Canyon State Park’s spectacular scenery. Take a challenging hike through the lush terrain of the 4.8 mile west rim trail. Or battle the 2 mile backcountry trail with stunning views of this mountain gem. If you’re looking for something more, hike to the bottom of the gorge and find two waterfalls cascading over layers of sandstone into pools below.

Nestled in the mountains of North Georgia, the park offers a number of recreational opportunities beyond hiking. You can enjoy camping, swimming, disc golf and even tennis at this diverse attraction.

Lodging is also available on site with cottages located near the canyon edge, while the park’s walk-in campsites provide exceptional privacy for tents.

For a unique experience, come enjoy the rugged beauty of  north Georgia at Cloudland Canyon. You’ll find variety, adventure and peaceful seclusion.
