Techno Tourism

The Georgia Tourism Foundation understands that rapid changes in technology are having an immediate and evolving impact on Tourism in our state.

Information is disseminated in a variety of ways: travel guides, brochures, advertising, etc., but new technological advances are making it easier to stay fresh and up to date with what is happing in tourism around the state.

“Portable” is how travelers want their information. Advanced cell phone capabilities, iPods, virtual reality and more, are the wave of the future in communications. Technology driven components should be a part of all marketing plans. Podcasts, streaming on websites, audio walking tours, Geo-caching, online brochures, etc., are just a few of the techniques that keep tourism current and exciting.

2009 Techno Tourism Conference
The Annual Techno Tourism Conference held in April 2009 focused on effective, cost efficient technology marketing to lure visitors to destinations and attractions in our state.

The Georgia Tourism Foundation presented this third annual event as a forum for the state’s tourism entities to explore new innovative technologies, exchange ideas, and enhance their understanding of social media and social networking.

Here are the Powerpoint Presentations that were showcased during the two day conference:
