Regional Representatives

In October of 1978, seven Tourism Regional Representatives were hired to develop the first regional based tourism program in the U.S.

The Reps responsibility was to serve as liaisons for the Department (GDEcD), sharing information and education on the value of tourism, the importance of cooperative efforts and State Tourism office programs. As the Georgia travel industry has grown, the efforts of the Reps have evolved to assist the needs of the travel industry in each of their nine state travel regions and two offices in Europe.  (If you are looking for monthly reports, please visit our new Regional & Intl Reports page.)
