With more than 17 universities and colleges with digital media curriculum, Georgia strives to produce even more work ready talent for the Interactive Entertainment and Digital Media industries. Public support also helps through state tax incentives which reward innovation and growth.
Offering a true game design program, from concept through production, the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) is recognized as one of the top programs in the United States. With locations in Savannah and Atlanta, SCAD offers the most comprehensive degree programs in interactive design and game development. In 2008, the Los Angeles Times named SCAD among the top 10 universities that game developers mention for recruiting new talent. In addition, SCAD is the only art and design university with a true game design program in the United States.
Qualcomm has joined forces with the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) to establish the Qualcomm Augmented Reality Game Studio, a research and design center aimed at pioneering new advancements in mobile gaming and interactive media.
