The Georgia Film, Music & Digital Entertainment Office (FMDE) is proud to announce the Camera Ready program, a special designation given to participating Georgia communities interested in attracting film and television production.
What does a Camera Ready designation mean to you? If you represent a production company, you have a helpful liaison in each Camera Ready community ready to assist you with your upcoming shoot. If you’re a county representative, you can promote your community’s assets directly to production companies interested in shooting in Georgia.
You can download a list of current Camera Ready liaisons, or view a map of current Camera Ready counties. If you don't see a particular county listed, please contact our office.
WHY CAMERA READY?
• To provide easier, faster and better access to county production resources and location information.
• A variety of shooting locations are needed due to a dramatic increase in film and television production across the state.
• Local economic impact from productions can be significant, including hiring of local residents, hotel stays and purchases of goods and services.
HOW TO BECOME CAMERA READY:
1. Designate an official county representative to serve as the Camera Ready liaison. This person will handle all incoming requests from production companies interested in shooting in your county.
2. Fill out the county questionnaire. This information will be displayed on your community’s Camera Ready page when it is launched.
3. Gather and maintain location photographs from your community in FMDE’s Reel-Scout database. Your Camera Ready liaison should contact us to get a username and password for the system. Then check the Resource Library for Reel-Scout instructions.
4. Once you're approved and your county's Camera Ready webpage has launched, FMDE will send you a Camera Ready Community Toolkit explaining the program, along with official Camera Ready promotional materials you can display at your office, on your website and elsewhere identifying you as a Camera Ready Community!
