The Georgia Film, Music and Digital Entertainment Office’s knowledgeable, hands-on staff is here to help you make your next entertainment project a reality in our state.

 

Since our office was formed in 1973, Georgia has been the location of choice for hundreds of film and television productions, along with a burgeoning video game industry and one of the world’s largest and most renowned music scenes.

 

Georgia offers a state tax credit of up to 30%, along with a sales & use tax exemption, for qualified productions. This includes not only traditional projects such as feature films and television programs, but also innovative new industries such as video game

No matter what shooting locations your script requires, Georgia can fit the bill. The largest state east of the Mississippi River, Georgia offers an astounding variety of landscapes to fit almost any production. Georgia’s crews are among the best and most experienced in the country, boasting more than 5,000 union and non-union professionals, along with more than 1000 production suppliers and support vendors.

 

It’s easy to get most anywhere within and outside of Georgia thanks to our vast and convenient transportation network. Along with our extensive rail and highway systems, Georgia is also home to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, the world’s busiest. Whether you need to travel the globe or fly non-stop to or from Los Angeles, New York City and every production center in between, Georgia can get you to your destination.

 

Frequently referred to as the “Music Capital of the South,” Georgia is home to one of the world’s largest networks of music artists, composers, producers, engineers and other professionals. Numerous GRAMMY® winners and nominees with Georgia ties have added to our world renowned music heritage.

 

Georgia has recently been chosen by more than 70 video game developers and development companies as home to their exciting new projects. Many trade publications have praised Georgia as a new center for video game production, with one ranking the state as number four in the nation in compensation levels for game developers.

 

The Georgia Gaming Assets Map highlights industry assets including Georgia’s gaming companies, colleges & universities and industry facts. The Gwinnett Commerce and several of the state’s regional partners worked with the Georgia Film, Music and Digital Entertainment to create this marketing collateral piece used to promote the digital entertainment industry around the world.
