Consular Services
Georgia offers your business access to 59 governments from around the world with consular offices and/or trade representation in Georgia. Foreign governments establish these offices to help your international business efforts by developing economic, commercial, scientific and cultural relations between the countries they represent and your business.
Additionally, these offices are in place to safeguard the interests of their native country and its citizens traveling or residing in their consular district. Traditionally, these duties include issuing and renewing passports and other official documents, helping travelers in distress, signing death certificates, legalizing or delivering official documents, and assisting travelers who have trouble with local law enforcement or immigration authorities. They’re just another example of Georgia’s strong global profile.
Fifteen foreign governments have operations in Georgia to promote trade between their countries and Georgia. In some cases, the trade promotion work is handled from within the countries' consular offices while others maintain independent trade offices.
By working with these organizations and investing in global sales, your company can gain valuable experience in new markets with diverse buyers. Contact the Georgia Department of Economic Development’s Global Commerce Division today to learn more about the benefits of taking your business abroad.
With Georgia’s consular and trade offices, we can help you take your business to the international marketplace and achieve global success.
