Continuing Education

Whether you’re looking for a professional development course or have a desire to learn a new technical skill, Georgia and its higher learning infrastructure can help you increase your knowledge – in any field.

Georgia Virtual Technical College (GVTC) combines the resources of 34 accredited technical colleges, 31 branch campuses and available programs at four state universities to offer more than 1,000 fully-accredited courses. GVTC went online in 1998 providing thousands of Georgians with high quality technical programs via the Internet. Say goodbye to night school and hello to flexibility.

If you have a desire to get back in the classroom, there are plenty of options available to you in Georgia. The Georgia Center for Continuing Education at the University of Georgia offers an array of professional and personal development classes. If getting wired is what you want, then check out “eCore” – UGA’s electronic core curriculum. It allows students to complete the first two years of their core curriculum in an online environment.

Options abound at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta. There you’ll find nearly 100 professional education courses ranging from art and gardening to infrared technology and tissue engineering. If night time is the only time you can hit the books, check out their evening class program – Tech2Nite.

Whether you’re thinking about continuing education from home or in the classroom – Georgia has endless options to help strengthen the mind and empower the spirit.
