Georgia's Race to Digital Dominance, a Hub Magazine feature

Over the past few years, we've seen the film industry in Georgia take off with a boom, generating $5.1 billion in economic impact that continues to produce a unique domino effect on job growth across the state. Not too far behind this industry is another hot sector that is poised for growth – digital technology and interactive entertainment. In 2012, the Georgia Video Game Industry Economic Impact Study revealed more than $1 billion in GDP contribution from this industry
As games become easier to develop, design and commercialize, the critical resources for success are found in the large supply of well-trained young people, from Georgia's 20 colleges and universities, who know coding and graphic design. This makes Georgia an easy target for significant growth.
