Tour the locations of "Hunger Games:Catching Fire"

With so much filming activity happening right in your own backyard, it is always fun to set out and see the locations where the movie magic was made! Did you know the second installment in the Hunger Games series, Catching Fire, was filmed largely around the Atlanta area? The skillful crew of builders, painters, and decorators (with a little help from computers) transformed these Atlanta landmarks into the Capitol and Districts of Panem.

The Murphy Avenue Warehouse was the location of the District 11 town square sequences, and the interior and exterior of the justice building in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.

Atlanta Motor Speedway was the setting for the Chariot Parade in Hunger Games: Catching Fire.

The Atlanta Marriott Marquis was used as the Tribute Quarters. The atrium’s full 52-story glass elevators and the hotel’s rooftop are also featured in the film.

The beach at Clayton County International Park was an ideal location to film the arena scenes for the Quarter Quell.

The Goat Farm appears as District 12 in several key scenes in the film.

Catching Fire made optimal use of Pullman Train Yard, dressing it both externally as “The Hob” and using interiors for locations in several other scenes.

The Swan House is a star of “Catching Fire” as the site of President Snow’s mansion. The historic Buckhead home offers tours seven days a week with the purchase of a ticket to the Atlanta History Center.
