Georgia Gets the Picture: Governor's High Demand Career Initiative to focus on film

Lee Thomas, Deputy Commissioner of the Georgia Film, Music and Digital Entertainment Office gave her take on how the film industry will be able to accommodate workforce needs as the level of business continues to grow. To to get ahead of the curve, Governor Nathan Deal announced the creation of the High Demand Career Initiative (HDCI) to bring together the heads of Economic Development, the University System of Georgia (USG), the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) and key leaders in some of our important private-sector industries. 

“One of the growing pains of this rapid increase is being able to accommodate the workforce needs of this level of business. There is valid concern that Georgia is so busy, studios will have to bring in personnel to fill positions, only costing productions money, but costing Georgians jobs.”
